TOURNAMENTS

Coordinators: Judy Cranna, Maeve Ercolani, and Rick Rose

Sign-up sheets for the 2004 Men and Women’s Singles, Doubles, Mixed Doubles and Seniors Mixed Doubles tournaments will remain open until June 30. Draws will be made by 6 pm on June 30.

There must be a minimum of 8 teams for doubles matches, and 12 entrants for singles matches in order for each tournament to take place. The cost for each entry is $20. Entrants should submit their email address when signing up.

This year we will introduce a new tournament format whereby the tournaments will be played over a series of weekends in the fall. All matches will be played as 10 game pro sets with no ad scoring. Throughout the weekend, players and teams will continue to advance to the finals which will be played as the best of three sets with a 12 point tie break to be played at 6-6. Consolation rounds may be possible depending on the size of the draw. Also, a Friday night start may be necessary depending on the size of the draw.

Tournaments are scheduled for the following dates:

The Arranged Pair and Parent-Child tournaments sign-up sheets will be posted on July 1. The draw will be made on Juyly 15. For the Arranged Paris, the tennis professional will arrange the pairings. Summer members may enter the Arranged Pairs tournament.
