Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, Michael joined the CTC Team in 2018. Prior to his relocation to the Boston area, he was the Director of Tennis at 2 facilities in Metro Detroit. He has been teaching tennis for 17 years and holds the distinct title of Elite Tennis Professional through the U.S. Professional Tennis Association. He has taught all ages and abilities, from collegiate players and aspiring touring pros to the those picking up the racquet for the first time. He loves sharing his joy of the sport with everyone he is on the court with.

Michael played NCAA Division 1 tennis at Western Michigan University where he earned All-Conference and Rookie of the Year honors. He spent 2 years playing professionally on the International Tennis Federation circuit before graduating from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in International Economics. Before his collegiate career, he was a nationally ranked junior player with rankings in the top 50 nationally and top 10 regionally.

Michael lives in Watertown with his wife and new baby girl, and in his spare time he enjoys the outdoors, surfing (albeit harder in New England), playing hockey, traveling, and exploring the food and live music scene in the Boston area.
