Tuesday, April 11

A second coat of clay went on the back courts yesterday, a grading coat.

The courts are uneven due to last year's heavy play, and due to erosion. The grading coat is a coat of clay in the body of the court where most play occurs. The base lines especially are worn down, so extra clay is needed there. We hope to grade the front courts today, weather permitting. A touchup coat goes on after that and then we're ready for lines.

Yesterday, some of the cables that hold up the windscreens were put up.

Billy hanging up cables. Joe "sprinkles" clay.

Court conditions: The rain has held up the work. Courts probably won't be open next week-end.
