A Sad Note: Hank Altman, a long-time member of the club, passed away recently. A memorial service will be held on this Thursday at 3:00 pm at Harvard's Memorial Hall. The club offers condolences to Dodie and the family.
Ratings: Would you like to have a tennis rating? The club has arranged to have two pros from outside of the club come and run a ratings clinic. The pros are USTA trained. The event is scheduled for next Wednesday, July 19 at 6:00 and 7:00. The pros would like to have at least six players sign up for the clinic. Members will be charged $10 and will receive a written statement of their rating. A sign-up sheet for the event will be posted on the porch bulletin board.
Round Robin: This week's round robin will take place tonight. Tennis starts at 6:00.
Member-Guest Round Robin: There is a member-guest round robin on Saturday, July 15, from 12:00 to 3:00. There's still plenty of space on the sign-up sheet.
Arranged Pairs/Mixed Doubles Tournament: The draw is on the porch bulletin board. The semi-finals are scheduled for July 22 and the finals for July 23. Please note that summer members are welcome to enter this tournament.
Summer Membership: Summer membership has begun. Summer members should try to come to round robins, Sunday pick-up doubles, and parties like the one that the club hosts on the 4th of July. The club is quite sociable, especially at the tennis parties. We would like to remind summer members that you are invited to participate in the Arranged Pairs Mixed Doubles Tournament.
