When are we going to open? We are hoping for early May. |
Letter from the club's President, Vincent Panico:
Dear Members:
Too much rain. The staff is working hard but it does not appear we will be able to open before early May. Better news, if any, will be posted on the club web site: www.cambridgetennisclub.com.
Staff:
Billy Crusco with his newly aligned collarbone will again be the manager, assisted by Joe DeBassio and Phil Soccorso.
Pro:
Rick Rose will return as pro. He is not only a good tennis instructor but also is wonderful teaching young children. He will coordinate the tournaments and work with the tennis committee.
Tennis Activities:
Southie Bundy has done an excellent job scheduling the various tennis activities. The information will be in the tennis book. The arrangements are a little different this year, so please check the book carefully.
Reservations:
The system remains the same. The staff will answer phones from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. (rain or shine) and from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. except on rain days when the staff is not on duty. Leave a message on the machine and the staff will respond when they return.
Ladies' Tennis Team:
For the last few years, we've had a spring ladies' tennis team which plays in a competitive league against other clubs. All games are played on Thursday mornings, half at home and half away. If you're interested, and are an experienced player who wants to play competitively, contact Cynthia Ellis at 617 491-2813.
Web Site:
We are still experimenting with the web site. Whenever possible, pertinent information will be listed there as well as posted on our bulletin board.
Cell Phones:
We urge you to leave cell phones at home. There have been complaints.
New Members' Party, Sunday, May 6, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
New members will be welcomed and introduced at the party. The original proposer should be present to introduce the new member. Susan Mead would be happy to answer any membership questions.
The following are the new members as of April 1, 2001:
Welcome to the new season.
