Tennis Club News

Saturday, April 6

When will we open?

Remember, Faithful Readers, when we asked for a member with a digital camera to stop by and take some photos of the club in medias res? Well, darned if an august gentleman, a pal, who insisted on anonymity, didn't stop by with a camera.

In the foreground, we see a new drain Billy and the guys put in.

Behind that, on the lawn, we see the hose that is used to water the dare-we-say-it ice during the again-dare-we-say-it winter.

And behind all, we see 11 pallets of clay, 35 bags to a pallet.

This picture was taken on April 1, 2002.

Ya, ya, but when do we open?

The courts are pretty well cleaned off, and the crew hopes to begin to spread clay Monday or Tuesday. We don't want any rain for a while, though. So...maybe around the third weekend in April?
