The club is hosting a party to welcome New Members on Sunday, May 2, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (A list of this year's new members can be found on the website in the FAQ page.) Please come and enjoy yourselves and meet our new members. |
We have the President's Spring Letter 2004.
The court rehab crew is cookin': We have a huge cohort, many strong guys (and a strong Dorothy). We're making progress. We're hoping to open sooner than expected. Stay tuned.
We'll post some new pictures and an opening day guestimate soon.
We think that BIG progress was made last week:Take a look at last week's work :
But...
Which news do you want first? The good news or the bad? The bad news is that, after pumping water out 3 times, the crew discovered more mud than we've had in many a year, maybe a world record amount. Mud is bad news.
The Good news is that the crew is finally working on the courts. The really, really good news is that the crew is one of the best we've had in years, troupers all. They chant:
"Oh, we're mudding no more
In 2004."
Sure, sure, but when do we open? The rule of thumb is 3 to 4 weeks after work has begun. Let's say the crew has put in one week of work as of 4-23....
Membership information: As noted, the list of new members can be found on the FAQ section. The up to date waiting list in now available in the FAQ section of the website.

And the saga of the year before (we're mighty fancy here, and mighty grateful to the Java Kid for doing all this work):
Phew.
Here's a link to the espn site, with pro ranking.
And a club member (let's call him Sol) suggests a link to the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, R.I. The site is rich.
The information in the CTC book may also be found here on the website. The information is current. The waiting list for membership, as well as a list of new members is up to date. That information can be found through the 'FAQ' page. The 'Governors and Committees' page, and the 'Rules' page are also up to date.
'Members', and' Reservation Requests' are not active parts of the site nowadays. 'Timelines' is for adepts.
The Yearbook link will take you to the last newspage from 2003. From there you can see the whole of the Persistant Archive of last year's news.
Website Note: The time and temperature icon below is a link to a Boston weather site.
Joe DeBassio, Webmaster,
Website Note II: The honey-comb icon is also a link. It takes the clicker to an archive of all the past news pages so that you can read the news pages for the whole year (2001). The less-than link (<) next to the honeycomb icon will take you to the last issue of the newspage.
